10 Things About Brittany
1. Harry Potter fanatic – wishes she went to Hogwarts instead of BYU-Idaho
2. Could run a mile in high heels – probably at a decent speed as well
3. Passionate about & loves interior decorating
4. Graduated high school a semester early – ready for the college experience
5. Always has a book on her – loves to read
6. If she could re-do anything, she’d be a dancer – she’s always dancing around & singing in the house (usually songs of her own creation too)
7. Extremely loyal and compassionate to those around her
8. Hard-working – like her Grandma, she’s always running around doing something (unless one of her favorite shows is on)
9. Believes letter writing is, regretfully, a dying art of communication – if you hurt her feelings, just write her a letter… she eats it up.
10. Above all else – she’s FAMILY ORIENTED. Nothing makes her happier than being surrounded by her family, especially her nieces & nephews.
Brittany is a southern girl from Texas (she wishes she had the accent to prove it). She is the third of four children, but still the baby girl. With two older sisters, Karissa and Amanda (her best friends), and a younger brother, Derek (who she calls her baby… he’s 24). Her family is very close knit. She’s Greek, Italian and German, all rolled up in one – needless to say, growing up there was never a dull or quiet moment. Brittany’s family is always supportive and each other’s biggest cheerleaders and protectors.
Brittany loves sports, especially basketball. She loves being active, from running around the house doing chores, hosting a party, or throwing the ball around… she’s a quick one. She finds the beauty in small things and loves to create those little things that brighten someone else’s day. If you ask her to do something for you, she’ll do it. If she knows you’re sick, having a bad day, or whatever it may be, she’ll figure out a way to make it better. This is one of the many reasons she’ll be a fantastic mother. She’s empathetic, energetic and meticulous in all she does. This also comes in handy at work. Brittany currently works as a front desk coordinator and contact lens specialist for a busy Optometry practice. Her attention to detail is an asset in this field. Although she loves running around the office staying busy, she cannot wait to run around chasing our children. She will be actively apart of our children’s life, keeping them entertained (see #6 of Brittany’s Top 10).
Top 3 Childhood Memories
1. Travelling every other summer to the small village in Greece her Papou grew up in. This included long hikes up the mountain, hand washing her clothes, helping relative bail hay and milk goats, damming up the mountain stream to make a pool, and playing soccer with the village kids until late at night.
2. Weekend chores - Brittany’s entire family would get together and do yard work. Afterwards they would be treated to lunch at Taco Bell and then go to a matinee movie. She was taught the value of hard work and the rewards that come from it.
3. While in elementary school Brittany and each of her siblings played basketball. This meant that they were at the elementary school gym almost all day on Saturdays. Brittany’s dad was in charge of the concessions stand. When Brittany and her siblings weren’t playing in their own game, they enjoyed being behind the concessions counter, helping dad. Brittany loved playing cashier, but she also liked all the yummy snacks at her disposal and having Dad spoil her with them.

What a great blog! I am praying for you and Joel during your journey...we have started on a similar path and when I pray for us to be blessed with a child, I pray for you too! You and Joel will be phenomenal parents, I believe any birth parents would be happy and blessed if they chose you to have their children. You are fun, easy to be with, and extremely compassionate. Miss you and all those fun memories you shared as well. Lets get Amanda to meet us in Ohio soon :)
